April Favourites!

It's that time, new month so that means we post our favourite items that we used the month before! April was a good month for me in terms of beauty and skin care, I've found some good products for my sensitive/acne prone skin, MAC launched a great collection (one of my faves so far this year) and of course, the ending of winter for good!

My skincare routine has changed a little this month, I've cut out toners and serums for a bit and just been cleansing my face and using day/night creams and eye creams for now and I've noticed it's been working. I was having too many flare ups and soreness from a TOO extensive skincare routine. Because I have acne prone/ sensitive skin, so it's hard to find something that fights my acne and is still gentle enough. This month I've been using Philposphy's "Purity" cleanser and I've been happy with it,  but when I received a few free samples of First Aid Beauty's Daily Cleanser-I was hooked! I like the way that Purity cleanser makes my skin feel deep down clean, but I noticed that there are parabens (boooo!) and FAB beauty cleanser does not have parabens, which initailly sold me. With continued use I felt that I would get better results with the FAB cleanser. It immediately comforted my skin and it felt so soft after! So I had to pick up a full size bottle, with no time to waste because my Purity cleanser was about done anyway! Along with the FAB cleanser, I use Avene "Thermal Spring Water" for extra hydration before using my Nivea "Light Moisturizing Day Care" and "Q10 Night Cream". For my eyes I've been using Benefit's "It's Potent" eye cream for day and GoodSkins's "Eyliplex-2" Night Balm before bed. I do a face mask 1-2 times a week and my favourite mask that I have been using is Clinique's "Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask"Keeping it simple for happy, clean skin!

MAC had launched a collection so perfect for spring, no one could resist! "Baking Beauties" (still available btw) was an amazing collection and perfect way to get the ladies ready for spring! These colours are to die for, although I loved the Archie's Girls collection, BB is my favourite so far this year. With cutie pie pinks, lovely lavenders and baby blues it was hard for even the most non-girly girl to resist buying something from this collection. The items from this collection that got the most love from me in April are :

Raspberry Swirl Lipstick                                                                      Lavender Whip Lipstick

Sweet Tooth Tinted Lip Balm                                                                Pistachio Cream Nail Laquer

Along with my Baking Beauties babies, some of the make up that's been on the roster this month are Benefits "Porefessional" primer (essential!!!) and "Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow" liquid foundation in "I'm so Money, Honey, "Boi-ing" concealer in Medium and MAC's Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in "Gold-Go-Lightly" for my face. I would like to note that although Hello Flawless is a great foundation for coverage and build-able coverage, I don't like that it just sits on the top layer of my skin. It doesn't "melt" into my skin, making it look a little unnatural. I most likely won't purchase this again, I would like to find a foundation that feels more comfortable on my skin. Any suggestions for my next foundation? Leave me a comment below!

For Blush this month I've been using MAC's "Cream Soda" from their Archie's Girls Collection. Pretty much obsessed with this blush since I bought it. And for Highlighting, I've been using MAC Mineralize Blush in "Honour". This is my favourite highlighter, I always go back to it.

When I'm not using the Baking Beauties lip products, I've also been obsessed with these Hello Kitty by Sephora "Sweet Gloss" in Pink Bow (fave!) and Peachy. I have a few of these as they were on sale and I went crazy. These are great for when you would like a sheer layer of colour on the lips, however they aren't very hydrating and don't last very long. Let me know if you would like to see me post swatches for them in an upcoming blog post! The Naked Palette has been a staple for all of my make up looks. And of course, my favourite daily brushes: Sigma F80 for foundation, Sigma  E25 for blending, Tokidoki Princess Siberia brush for highlighting and MAC 316SE for my lips.

For my hair, I've been using Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treament for a few months now, and I've been really happy with it. I received this as a gift, and I have just about 1/4 of the bottle left. I  use this after I shower, I comb it through my wet hair and on my dry hair sometimes when my ends need a little love. It doesn't leave my hair heavy and oily and it does a good job keeping my hair in good condition. I have my ends lightened and this helps with the breakage. Going to try something new next, maybe something from Bumble and Bumble. Any suggestions? Leave me some ideas in my comments! Stay tuned to find out what and if I like it in a future review!
